A safety training calendar for the jobs you have.
Pick the jobs on your site. The tool lists the OSHA training rules that reach them, puts the yearly ones into months you can move, and lists the rest as dates kept per person or rules that follow changes. Download it as Excel or a calendar file.
Also calledAnnual safety training calendar, OSHA annual training requirements, Safety training schedule template, Annual safety training plan
A starting point built from the OSHA rules, read on eCFR on October 28, 2026. It is not legal advice and it doesn’t say what your site needs. OSHA trains by hazard, not by job title, so read each rule. Only the rules that set a yearly interval get a month. Nothing you type is saved or sent.

- Forklifts and other powered industrial trucks (29 CFR 1910.178(l)). At least every 3 years for each operator. Applies always, before they drive. An evaluation of each operator. Track each date. The forklift tracker on this site does it.
- Personal protective equipment (29 CFR 1910.132(f)). When something changes. Applies wherever the hazard assessment calls for PPE.Retraining when the employer has reason to believe an employee lacks the understanding or skill, such as after a workplace or equipment change.
- Hazard communication (29 CFR 1910.1200(h)). When something changes. Applies for battery charging, propane and other chemicals they handle; for the chemicals in their area. The section ties training to new hazards. It doesn't set an annual interval.
- Emergency action plans (29 CFR 1910.38(e) and (f)). When something changes. Applies where an emergency action plan is required. The section sets no annual interval.

How it's built
- From the same rules as the OSHA training by job page, read on eCFR. Each line names its rule.
- Only the rules that set a yearly interval get a month. They are spread across the year and you can move any of them.
- Forklift evaluations and crane certifications are dates that belong to each person, so they sit in their own list.
- Rules that follow changes, like a new machine or a new chemical, are listed so they aren't forgotten.
What it doesn't do
- It isn't legal advice, and it doesn't say what your site needs. OSHA trains by hazard, not by job title, so a job on the list may not trigger every rule, and a hazard on your site may trigger a rule that isn't shown. Read each rule.
- Nothing you type is saved or sent. The calendar file adds one all-day event a year for each yearly item, on the first weekday of the month you chose.
Run this in the field.
PortalBase assigns recurring trainings by role and site, reminds people before they are due, and lists who is behind.

Common questions
- What OSHA training is required every year?
- Only some rules set a yearly interval. Examples are respirator training, hearing conservation, fire extinguisher training, bloodborne pathogens and the HAZWOPER refresher. Many others have no fixed interval and ask for retraining when things change.
- How often is forklift training renewed?
- Each operator is evaluated at least once every three years, with refresher training sooner after unsafe operation, an accident or near miss, a different type of truck, or a workplace change. Those dates belong to each person, so the forklift tracker on this site follows them.
- Can I put the calendar in Google Calendar or Outlook?
- Yes. Download the calendar file and open it or import it. It adds one all-day event a year for each yearly item.
