How to use it

Three habits that make it worth filling out.

  1. Step 1

    Use the site's list

The kit should match a list your company set, based on the work and the rules that apply. Print the list and keep it in the lid.

  2. Step 2

    Check dates, not just counts

Look at each date on the packages. Something that's there but out of date counts as missing.

  3. Step 3

    Restock the same day

Write down what you replaced and sign the sheet. A kit with a gap in it is one more thing nobody knows about.

Do this on a phone instead of paper.

Run this check on a phone, with a photo on any failed step, no signal needed. A failed step opens a repair and the record is kept for you.

Common questions

What should be in a first aid kit?
It depends on the work, the size of the crew and the rules that apply to you. Your company and the current standards decide the list. This sheet checks the kit against whatever list you set.
How often should a first aid kit be checked?
Your company's procedure decides. Many sites check kits on a set schedule, such as monthly, and after anything is used. Pick a schedule and write it down.
Does having a kit mean we're covered if someone gets hurt?
No. A kit is only part of it. Know who's trained, where the nearest medical help is and how to call it. For a serious injury, get medical help.
